1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Steady (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App. Steady is operated by Steady (“we,” “our,” or “us”).
2. Description of Service
Steady is a sobriety support application that provides tools including a sobriety clock, daily check-ins, an AI-powered companion, community features, and family connection tools. Steady is designed to support — not replace — professional treatment, therapy, or medical advice.
3. Not a Medical Service
Steady is not a healthcare provider, therapist, counselor, or medical service. The AI companion is a supportive tool — it is not a licensed professional and cannot diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice. If you are experiencing a medical emergency or mental health crisis, please contact emergency services (911), call the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (988), or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.
4. User Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Steady to: post harmful, abusive, or harassing content on the Community Wall; impersonate another person; attempt to access other users' data; interfere with the operation of the App; or use the App for any illegal purpose. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
6. Premium Subscriptions
Steady offers premium subscription plans billed monthly or annually through Stripe. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Refunds are handled in accordance with Stripe's policies. We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice.
7. User Content
You retain ownership of any content you create within Steady, including check-in responses, companion conversations, and Community Wall posts. By posting to the Community Wall, you grant Steady a non-exclusive license to display that content to other authenticated users. You can delete your Community Wall posts at any time.
8. AI Companion
The Steady Companion is powered by artificial intelligence and may occasionally produce responses that are inaccurate, inappropriate, or unhelpful. We continuously work to improve the companion, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy or appropriateness of every response. The companion should not be relied upon as a sole source of support — please maintain connections with real people, support groups, and professionals in your recovery journey.
9. Service Availability
We strive to keep Steady available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The App may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by downtime.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Steady and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. Your continued use of Steady after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
